CABBIE

Cabbie is a 10-month-old German Shepherd mix looking for her forever home in Tucson, AZ.She’s a goofy, playful girl with the cutest ears that seem to have a mind of their own.She is fairly independent, and happy to just be nearby with a chew toy or napping with her tongue sticking out. When she is in need of affection and head scritches, she will let you know with gentle headbutts and nose boops. She is housebroken & crate trained, and feels the safest & most relaxed in her crate whenever she is left home alone. She, like many German Shepherds, can be a little nervous around new people and strangers. She may need a little time to warm up and feel comfortable, but once she trusts you, she's your ride or die. She’s a very adaptable girl who is willing to try new things and learn & grow alongside her person... after all, she is still a puppy!Cabbie does have some chronic pain issues (in her back & hips) as well as a heart murmur. She is not a candidate for surgery, but with appropriate support, management, and ongoing care, she will live a long & happy life. She is currently on medication to manage her pain, but physical therapy & red light therapy may be good options for Cabbie, too! (A Loyal Companion is a great resource for this!)If you think she may be a good fit for you, or if you have additional questions / concerns, come and visit Cabbie at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona!CABBIE (Pet ID 952068)

CLYDE

Clyde is a 3-year-old boxer/pittie mix, looking for his forever home in Tucson, AZ.Clyde loves the outdoors! He would probably enjoy having a backyard to explore, but more importantly he would like someone equally outdoorsy that he could go on adventures with! He loves rolling around in the grass, lounging in the sun, going on sniffari walks, and he's enjoyed going on hikes with other PACC fosters. He was brought in as a stray in July, and it seems he is still learning the ropes on being a House Dog. He is potty trained and will tell you when he needs to go potty, he does well in a crate, and he won't steal food off your plate or countertops - but he would appreciate someone who is willing to help him learn to relax & adjust to the cozy parts of life indoors!According to shelter volunteers, he does well with other dogs in play group, but often prefers to just doing his own thing! He can be pretty independent within the home as well, but will come up to give you kisses, or to ask for pets or snuggles whenever he needs them.Despite him being fairly independent, Clyde seems to have a bit of separation anxiety when left home alone ~ but he looooves treats (veggies included!) and yummy enrichment toys. They are a great way to keep him happy & busy while you're away! When we went to PetSmart together, he picked out a toy bunny that he carried all around the store until we left. We named it Bonnie the Bunny, because it seemed fitting!Bonnie quickly became a comfort to Clyde, but the shelter wasn't able to hold onto it for him - I really want Bonnie to join him in his forever home, so I will be holding onto her in the hopes that I can get in touch with his adopter(s)!If you think this adventurous boy could be a good fit for you, come and meet him at Pima Animal Care Center.CLYDE (A906624)

DA BABY

Meet Da Baby!Da Baby is a fluffy, long-haired brown tabby who’s about 3 months old. I’ve been fostering him since he was a tiny 2-week-old bottle baby, and it has been an amazing experience to watch him thrive, and grow into his big personality. I made this video so you can watch him grow up, too!Like most kittens, Da Baby is a curious, playful little guy. He’s still working on learning that hands and fingers aren’t toys, but he’s gentle with his play and doesn’t use his claws or bite hard.Da Baby has done great with my own cat, even when my cat wasn’t quite sure what to make of him at first. He’s also done a good job of setting boundaries with the dogs - he mostly keeps his distance and hisses when they are in his space. I think that with time and patience he would be totally fine around dogs.He is moderately vocal and loves to greet you with a loud, motor-like purr whenever you walk into the room. But he’s also happy to entertain himself with his toys when you’re busy or away, making him a sweet mix of affectionate and independent. His favourite toys so far have been a variety of ball toys, both on tracks and just free rolling on the floor. He also loves chasing a wand toy or batting at anything feathery, and seems to love any toy that has a jingling bell.Da Baby has a clean bill of health! He’s vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, which means this little guy is officially ready to find his forever home. He'll be going home with the remainder of his current dry & wet food, as well as his bed & blanket, and a few of his favourite toys.Da Baby is a private foster of mine, so please reach out to me directly for more information on adopting him! We are located in Tucson, AZ.

DONATE

With the exception of short-term dog fosters from local shelters & rescues, the majority of my foster work is done completely out-of-pocket. This means that I personally pay for all of the food & supplies, veterinary care, etc! Even when fostering a dog through a rescue, I aim to provide everything aside from food & medical needs to lift some of the weight off of the shelter and allow the dog to feel like they have something of their very own. Personal items like toys & blankets are often sent back to the shelter with the pet, or with them to their forever home!I always appreciate donations to help me continue my foster work!

Foster Supplies Wish Lists:
